The air is thick with the sweet scent of sunshine and the vibrant hum of happy bees – it can only mean one thing: July has arrived, and with it, a glorious explosion of flavor here on our Michigan farm! The fields are practically singing with color as the fruits (and vegetables!) of our labor reach their peak. Get ready, folks, because your taste buds are in for a treat!
Step into our fields right now, and you'll be greeted by a dazzling array of nature's finest. The tomatoes, oh, the tomatoes! From plump, juicy heirlooms in every shade of red, yellow, and even purple, to the classic slicers just begging for a BLT, our plants are laden with these summer jewels. The warm sunshine has coaxed out their sweetness, and the air is filled with their unmistakable summery aroma.

Just a little further along, the sweet corn stalks stand tall and proud, their silky tassels hinting at the golden kernels developing beneath their husks. There's nothing quite like the taste of fresh-picked Michigan sweet corn, its milky sweetness bursting in your mouth with every bite. Get ready for backyard barbecues and corn on the cob galore!
And then there's the seemingly endless bounty of zucchini and cucumbers! These prolific summer staples are thriving, offering a crisp and refreshing taste of the season. From tender zucchini blossoms ready to be stuffed and fried to crunchy cucumbers perfect for salads or pickling, the possibilities are endless. We're harvesting them daily, ensuring you get the freshest, most flavorful veggies.

For those with a sweet tooth, July in Michigan is berry heaven! Our blueberry bushes are heavy with clusters of dusty blue orbs, their sweet and slightly tart flavor a quintessential taste of summer. And the delicate raspberries, in their vibrant red hues, offer a burst of sunshine in every juicy bite. Whether you're picking them by the handful or using them in pies and jams, these berries are a true delight.
But wait, there's more! The fuzzy sweetness of peaches is starting to perfume the air. These luscious stone fruits, ripened under the warm July sun, are a true taste of summer indulgence. Get ready for juicy slices, cobblers that fill your kitchen with warm aromas, and maybe even some canning to capture their summery goodness for later.
Beyond these stars of the July harvest, you'll also find vibrant bell peppers beginning to color, fragrant herbs reaching their peak flavor, and the promise of even more deliciousness just around the corner.
This is what we work towards all year – this moment of abundance, where the land provides so generously. We are incredibly grateful for the rich soil and the perfect summer conditions that allow us to bring this incredible harvest to your tables.
So, head to your local farmers markets and farm stands! Now is the time to savor the peak flavors of Michigan. Support your local farmers, taste the difference that freshness makes, and celebrate the bounty of our beautiful state. This July harvest bonanza is a fleeting moment, so don't miss out on the deliciousness! We can't wait to share it with you.
